Becoming a veterinarian comes with a lot of pleasure. First, you’ll always have this satisfaction when that cute furry friend is properly treated and recovers with lots of smiles.
Secondly, the salary that goes to your account to appreciate your help to the animal world is quite high. In fact, U.S. News and World Report stated that Veterinarians made a median salary of $100,370 in 2021. The best-paid 25% made $128,410 that year, while the lowest-paid 25% made $78,920.
However, the two challenging factors I have over vet are their very high requirements and their high school fees. Well, scholarships can help you reduce their school fees, but when we speak of their admission requirements, if you don’t meet them you just have to try another school or in the worse case change course, and these requirements are not like basic scholarship criteria.
I believe you don’t want to start changing the career you’ve always dreamt of pursuing, so we decided to create these easiest vet schools to get into regardless of where you are.
Before we list them, let’s first explain what a vet school is, after that, we discuss a few benefits of going to a vet school, and how to easily get admission.

How to Easily get Admission into a Vet School
- The most hassle-free way to get admission to a vet college is by having a very good grade. Having a very great grade opens doors for lots of colleges to seek you.
- Gain veterinary experience if possible. Some of these easiest vet schools to get into we have listed require you to get experience with animal treatments.
- Get your letter(s) of recommendation ready. Even though some of these schools might not request them, having them ready is to your own advantage.
Easiest Vet Schools to Get Into
Our methodology for choosing these schools is basically their acceptance rate and in most cases their minimum GPA.
1. The University of New Hampshire Veterinary Medical School
The University of New Hampshire is by far the easiest vet school to get admitted to, and here’s why. The school has a very high acceptance rate of 50%, you’ll rarely find any other vet school with this high acceptance rate.
Another interesting thing is that 88% of the UNH students who applied to veterinary medical school were admitted, believe me, you might not find such a number of admitted students in a vet school.
Also, the minimum required GPA to be admitted is 3.0 which is also fair, and applicants must have some experience with animals in a professional setting. Candidates also need to include a statement in the student application describing their experience.
2. Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine Biomedical Sciences
To us, Texas A&M is one of the most effortless vet schools to get into. Their minimum grade point average to apply is 2.9 overall. Even though applicants need to have over 100 hours of veterinary supervised experience in order to qualify for an interview, it’s still something you can pull through.
Also, applicants must have graduated with a C or better grade in vet important courses like Organic Chemistry, Physics and Biochemistry.
See another good part of it, their acceptance rate is 27% which is not so high but above average, and you don’t need GRE to be admitted, but having it ready still gives you an advantage.
Furthermore, Texas A&M won’t ask you for a recommendation letter, which reduces the stress of writing one. But, having one is still important.
3. Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine
This is another veterinary school that is relatively easy to enter because applicants just need a minimum GPA of 2.80 on a 4.00 scale in the required Math and Science courses and a minimum overall GPA of 2.80. No grade lower than a C is acceptable in any required course.
Unlike Texas A&M, Mississippi State University demands GRE and it needs to be taken no later than mid-August of the application year and must be no more than 3 years old.
However, if we were to choose the easiest veterinary universities to get into based on recommendation letters, this wouldn’t be on our list because they request 3 electronic letters of recommendation (eLORs). Also, they require a personal statement where applicants need to state a clear picture of the applicant’s reasons for choosing a career in veterinary medicine and the reasons the applicant is a good candidate for veterinary school.
4. Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences
Oklahoma State University is one of the easiest vet schools to get into that requires applicants to have at least a 2.80 GPA and a C in required courses. Also, applicants need to take the general Graduate Record Exam (GRE) within four academic years prior to application.
Besides the fact that their minimum GPA is 2.80, they also don’t accept recommendation letter(s) – perhaps they didn’t state it on their admission requirements.
5. Tuskegee University
With more than 140 years of academic experience, Tuskegee University doesn’t only provide easy entrance they also provide a large wealth of experience in various academic programs. Well, the school didn’t provide their acceptance rate on the website, so we can’t say for sure the ratio of students they accept per year.
But their low minimum GPA and other simple requirements made us choose them, here are some of them;
- Applicants must obtain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a Science grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) within three (3) years of the date of application.
- Submission of official academic transcripts, test scores, evaluation forms, and related materials.
Evaluation forms and letters of recommendation from professors and veterinarians might be asked, also.
Conclusion
In summary, even though some of these vet schools provide considerably easy requirements to be admitted, it also means that more students will be seeking admission to the school. And this increases the competition. I would advise, if you have a high GPA and test score, you should go for schools that demand a higher minimum GPA, because this will reduce the number of people applying which gives you a better chance to be admitted.
