WMU recognizes those enrolled in undergraduate and master’s degree programs to become elementary school teachers. There are more than five different scholarships set aside for such students and they can go a long way in supporting the financial cost of their studies at WMU.
Although the scholarships are different they have similar requirements which are enrolled in a full-time elementary education program and have a GPA of 2.5 to 3.0 to be considered. Some of the scholarships require applicants to demonstrate financial need.
2. Woodring College of Education Scholarships for Elementary Education Students
Woodring College of Education is a division within Western Washington University in charge of providing world-class teaching to those who aspire to become teachers. Now, if your dream is to become an elementary school teacher, you should consider applying to Woodring College of Education to study because there are numerous scholarships here for such students.
There are over ten elementary education scholarships here at Woodring College of Education including the Katherine Casanova Memorial Scholarship and the Rob Brand Elementary Education Scholarship. Now, the Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship is awarded to one student who is 25 years or older teaching at the elementary school level.
In addition, the applicant must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA, be at least in their second year in college, and attend or plan on attending an accredited college or university. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit. The value is $1,500.
5. Iowa State University School of Education Undergraduate Scholarships
The Iowa State University, its School of Education offers scholarships to undergraduates majoring in elementary education, early childhood education, and secondary education. There are over 20 of these scholarships awarded based on financial need, academic merit, or both.

10. Golden State Teacher Grant (GSTG) Program
The Golden State Teacher Grant (GSTG) Program is one of the most popular teaching grants in the US for those who wish to become teachers. The grant awards up to $20,000 to students currently enrolled in a teaching credential program approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The fund will be directed towards the cost of the recipient’s education.
To be eligible, applicants must complete their program obtain their credential within 6 years, and commit to work at either a priority school or a California State Preschool Program for 4 years within 8 years of completing their program. 11. National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Education Grants
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) offers education grants, scholarships, and awards to prospective mathematics teachers.
