15 Best Scholarships for African-American Males

There are some shocking statistics that I’m still yet to get off my head, research has it that black students have greater student debt than their fellow white folks. And this is largely because of the very low black families’ annual income compared to whites.

USA Today reported that the average Black household earns about half as much as the average White household, and White families have eight times the median wealth of Black families − $188,200, compared with $24,100 − a gap that also has been widening, the Federal Reserve reports.

Upon that, there are not so many scholarships for African-American males, in fact, due to poor earnings for blacks, and poor financial aid for them, 86% of blacks have to borrow towards a bachelor’s degree. To stay on the safe side, you shouldn’t rely only on scholarships for African-American, you can still research grants for African Americans, private school scholarships if you’re from a low-income family, or even athletic scholarships if you’re skillful in a particular sport.

Even though this discrimination is still going on, we would want you to take advantage of these compiled scholarships, but note that even though all of them are for African Americans, most of them are not exclusively for males.
