Scholarship Details

Since its inception in 1995, WAI has awarded a total of $15.4 million in awards, and you don’t even need to be a citizen of the United States to participate in their Scholarships (unless it specifies so). Also, even if you weren’t awarded the scholarship, you’re still allowed to apply again the next year.

Currently, the only Women in Aviation scholarship available is the WAI/Harvard Emerging Leaders professional development course. Which is exclusively for women working in the aviation and aerospace industry.

The scholarship gives you access to a two-day intensive program that is focused on the curriculum offered through Harvard University’s Women’s Leadership institute.

Topics Covered

This intensive two-day, on-campus program will be based on the curriculum offered through Harvard University’s Women’s Leadership Institute and will be tailored to the unique challenges women face in the aviation and aerospace industry.

Their goal is to help high-potential managers master core business concepts, build key leadership skills, and explore and develop their personal leadership styles. A third session will augment on-campus learning with a remote leadership coaching session. After the completion of the in-person course, Harvard faculty members will meet with participants to discuss how they have applied their newfound skills. Participants will earn a special certificate awarded by Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education to add to their professional resumes.
