Aikyashree Scholarship

The Aikyashree scholarship program is provided by the West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC). This scholarship provides financial aid to deserving and underprivileged students to support their higher education.

This scholarship program is provided for students who are Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains and is designed to provide financial assistance to deserving students from West Bengal who are studying in high school or college. The West Bengal State Government provides full funding for the Aikyashree scholarship, covering all education costs, including tuition-free high school and college and hostel expenses for students who merit the scholarship.

This scholarship is available to help and encourage students to learn Hindi in non-Hindi-speaking countries like West Bengal and is open to students enrolled in upper-division courses, undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs, and research-level courses such as M.Phil., Ph.D., M.Lit., etc. The selected students can receive a scholarship worth between Rs. 300 and Rs. 1000 per month.

What Does Aikyashree Scholarship Cover?

The West Bengal State Government provides full funding for the Aikyashree scholarship, covering all education costs, including tuition-free high school and college and hostel expenses for deserving students.

Aikyashree Scholarship Requirements

The different Aikyashree scholarship types have different eligibility requirements and students must apply for the scholarships based on their level of education. The requirements are as follows;

West Bengal Post-matric Scholarship

For this type of scholarship, the requirements are;

  • The student’s primary residence must be in West Bengal.
  • The student must fall under the OBC, SC, or ST categories.
  • Class 11, Class 12, Graduation, or Post-Graduation students can apply for this scholarship.
  • For OBC, SC, and ST category students, the annual family income cannot be more than Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 2 lakhs, or Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)

For this type of scholarship, the requirements are;

  • The student must be a domicile of West Bengal.
  • The student must be studying in  Class 11 or 12.

  • If the student is not enrolled in general Undergraduate or Postgraduate level degree courses, they must be pursuing graduation in Engineering, Medical, and Technical/Professional courses.
  • The student must have received at least 75% of the possible points in class 10 if they pursue a diploma or higher secondary education.
  • The student must have received at least 75% of the possible points in class 12 if enrolled in undergraduate coursework.
  • The student’s family’s annual income should not be more than Rs. 2.5 lakh.
  • Deserving students will be awarded scholarships based on merit and other factors.
  • Candidates for the M.Phil. Students from state-supported institutions may also apply for courses and doctoral programs to receive this scholarship.

West Bengal Pre-matric Scholarship (SC/ST Students)

For this type of scholarship, the requirements are;

  • The student must be a domicile of West Bengal.
  • He or she must be a student of Class 9 or 10.
  • The student must belong to either the SC or ST category.
  • The annual family income of the student should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.

Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal

For this type of scholarship, the requirements are;

  • The student needs to live in West Bengal.
  • He or she must be a citizen of a country that does not speak Hindi.
  • The student must have completed one of the degree programs listed below: Madhyamik, higher secondary, graduation, PG, or any comparable degree program.
  • The student must have received at least 60 percent of the possible points in the preliminary examination, which included Hindi as one of the subjects.

Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal

  • The student’s primary residence must be in West Bengal.
  • This student ought to be a woman.
  • Candidates must have received a passing grade in Class 12 from any board.
  • The student must want to attend a reputable institution in West Bengal to pursue a degree in engineering, medicine, or basic science.

How to Apply for Aikyashree Scholarship

In other to apply for the  Aikyashree Scholarship, you need to follow the steps below;

Step One: Student Registration

  • Visit the official website of the WBMDFC portal or directly click on the Aikyashree Scholarship portal
  • Click on the New Registration
  • Select the District of your Institute
  • Enter the details like Name, District, Guardians Name, DOB, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Bank Account Number in the registration form
  •  Now click on Submit and Proceed.

Step Two: Eligibility

  • Fill out the information requested in the scheme eligibility column on the website, including the current institution’s name, location, class or course title, board name, year of the last exam’s passing, percentage of marks earned, annual family income, and email address.
  • Double-check the information and select the Submit & Proceed tab.

Step Three: Registration Completion

  • A temporary User ID will be generated after the previously mentioned step is finished.
  •  Verify your inbox or email because the password will be sent there.

Step Four: Student’s Login

  • Login with the User ID and Password on the Student Log-In window
  • Enter the below-mentioned details:

– Basic Information

– Academic Information

– Bank Account Information

  • Change the password (it must be changed) for added security, then click the Submit button.

Step Five: Final Submission

  •  Fill out the information in the Basic Information option.
  •  Press “Submit” to continue.
  • Next, fill in the information under the Academic Information option.
  • Press “Submit” to continue.
  •  Complete the bank account information form and confirm
  •  Check all the information by selecting the Pre-View tab.
  • Select the Final Submit button.

Step Six: Verification and Print Out

  • Check the information entered in the previous step very carefully.
  • Take a printout copy of the application form after verifying the data has been entered into the appropriate slots.
  • Submit the application form and a photocopy of the bank passbook, which includes the IFSC Code and bank account number, to the relevant institute.

  • Visit the official website for All Scholarship (Pre-Matric, Post Matric, MCM, TSP, SVMCM scholarship)
  • Click on the Renewal Application option, which will open a new window
  • Select the district and click OK on the dialogue box appearing on the screen
  • Login by entering the application ID, date of birth, district, and captcha code
  • Click Login
  •  An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number- Enter the sent OPT and submit-
  • There will be two options – Renew Application and Withdraw Application- Click on Renew Application
  • Enter the asked details in the registration form like name, date of birth, email ID, parent’s name, gender, religion, etc.-
  •  Click on Submit and Next
  •  Enter previous and current academic details
  • Click on Submit and Next
  • Check and verify the bank details like IFSC, bank and branch name, bank account number, and name in the bank account as per the passbook
  •  Tick the confirmation box ‘I confirm that the bank account details are ok to the best of my knowledge & belief.
  •  Click on Submit and Next
  •  Upload the necessary documents with the form (institute verification certificate)
  • Submit the application form by clicking Submit and Next tab
  •  Finally, review the details before finally submitting the form

Aikyashree Scholarship

1.       West Bengal Pre-Matric Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal, and is open to Class 9 and Class 10 students. -The selected students are eligible to receive a scholarship worth between Rs. 150 and Rs. 750 per month. -The chosen students also receive an additional Ad hoc Reward of up to Rs. 1000 annually in addition to the scholarship money.

3.       Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal

This scholarship is provided by Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata The recipients of this scholarship must be female students. Only West Bengal students who have passed the class 12th exam from any board are eligible for the scholarship. You can apply for this scholarship program if you are a female student seeking an undergraduate degree in basic science, engineering, or medicine at any West Bengali institution. -Each month, the selected students will receive Rs. 3000. In addition to the scholarship money, the student will receive a Rs. 2000 book grant each year.

4.       Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)

This scholarship is provided by the Government of West Bengal and offered to assist and support students studying the Hindi language in non-Hindi-speaking states like West Bengal. -Students in higher secondary, undergraduate, postgraduate, and research level courses (M.Phil., Ph.D., or M.Lit. etc.) can apply for this scholarship. The chosen students can avail of the scholarship amount ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month.

5.       Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal

This scholarship is provided by the Department of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal. Students may apply for this scholarship program if they are in Class 11, Class 12, Graduation, or Post-Graduation. This scholarship provides financial assistance to post-matriculated or post-secondary SC, ST, and OBC students. The selected students can receive a scholarship worth between Rs. 160 and Rs. 1200 per month.
