Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Program Application

There is no doubt that Hispanics have greatly impacted America for centuries, whether by enriching its culture, helping its economy grow, or even shaping its future. They have produced groundbreaking scientists, Nobel laureates, and even celebrated artists and community leaders.

There has also been a massive improvement in their enrollment at postsecondary institutions in the United States. In fact, according to the Pew Research Center, there has been a rise from 1.5 million enrollment in 2000 to a new high of 3.8 million in 2019, which is more than double in less than two decades.

Regardless of all of these achievements and progress, their access to higher education still seems a lot difficult due to the cost. That’s where the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) comes into action. It was established out of the burden to empower students and parents with the knowledge and resources to successfully complete a higher education.

Interestingly, HSF is not the only scholarship for Hispanics, there are also scholarships for students interested in STEM and even financial assistance for Latinos in high school. If you are a woman, there are also some scholarships for you.

Above all, the HSF scholarship still provides the highest contribution among all of them.

In this blog post, we’ll dive deeper into how much impact HSF has had and how you can partake in this scholarship. Let’s get started.

About the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)

The HSF was created in 1975 with the mission to empower students and parents with the knowledge and resources to complete a higher education while providing support services and scholarships to as many exceptional students, and making college education a top priority for every Hispanic family across the nation.

Moreover, if you reside in Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, California, etc, there are lots of scholarships for Hispanics in these states.

Since this Fund was created, it has awarded more than $730 million in scholarships and provides a broad range of programs and support services for students, parents, HSF Scholars, and HSF Alumni. Their scholarships impact 10,000 scholars annually at 1,200 colleges and universities.

The truth is when calculating impact, it’s also best to look beyond the tangible numbers, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund also provides support services, career guidance, and leadership development programs. No wonder they have a very high graduation rate of 90%, exceeding the national average for all students.

Also, their alumni contribute significantly to the American economy, with an average annual income of $82,000 and a collective lifetime earning potential of over $13 billion.

These numbers are proof that the Hispanic Scholarship Fund is staying true to its mission.
