1. Texas International Fishing Tournament (TIFT) Scholarships
The first hunting scholarship on our list is the TIFT scholarship which awards a non-refundable $2,000 each to selected undergraduate students enrolled in any accredited college or technical school in the fall. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a US citizen, a freshman or an undergraduate student at any level, have 70% participation in TIFT, and have a minimum GPA of 2.25.
Candidates are required to provide proof of full-time enrollment, transcripts, photos, cover letters, transcripts, required essays, and the TIFT scholarship application. The scholarship may be renewed if you maintain a minimum of 2.25 GPA. The scholarship fund must only be used for tuition, books, lab fees, and any other school-related fees.
2. Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association (WBHA) Scholarship
The Wisconsin Bear Hunting Association is an association of nearly 3,000 bear hunters who fight together to protect the rights of sportsmen and sportswomen in Wisconsin, promote youth hunting, conservation, and sound wildlife management. The association provides many financial aids annually including scholarships to support college students.
The scholarship from WBHA is offered annually and the value is not disclosed. The application for the scholarship is done online and it is easy too. You simply need to fill out an online form where you will include your details, the college you are attending, and your course. You will also submit an essay and upload a picture of yourself to complete the application.
3. Dr. James Earl Kennamer Scholarship Program
This is a scholarship from the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) awarded to senior high school students for their excellent academic performance, leadership roles, and community involvement. The scholarship fund is $10,000.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be graduating seniors actively involved in hunting, must be pursuing a degree at a 4-year college or technical college, be a current member of NWTF, demonstrate leadership abilities, be involved in extra-curricular activities in school, and the community, and be a supporter for the conservation of the wild turkey. As part of the application, you will also be required to submit a 400-word essay.
4. Nevada Bow Hunters Association Annual Scholarship
If you are a hunter living in Nevada, you can apply for the Nevada Bow Hunters Association Annual Scholarship award. If you are also an archer, you can apply for the scholarship too. To be eligible, you must be a member in good standing of the NFAA, a Nevada resident, and enrolled in a college program. The scholarship award value is undisclosed.
5. Whitetails Unlimited
Whitetails Unlimited is a premier nonprofit white-tailed deer organization on a mission to raise funds in support of educational programs, wildlife habitat enhancement and acquisition, and the preservation of the shooting sports and hunting tradition. You have to be a hunter and a member of Whitetails Unlimited to have access to their funding opportunities.
6. Virginia Deer Hunters Scholarship
Virginia Deer Hunters Association offers a total of seven scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students studying forestry, biology, conservation law and law enforcement, and conservation and white-tailed deer management programs at an accredited community college or 4-year college.
The fund includes one $5,000 scholarship and six $2,000 scholarships. You must be a member of the association to be eligible for the scholarship award.
