1. UCF – Latin American and Caribbean Scholarship (LAC)
The University of Central Florida won’t only provide $1,000 worth of scholarships per year to eligible students from Latin America and the Caribbean countries, but they will also provide in-state tuition savings. These in-state savings will enable you to pay in-state tuition which costs an average of $2,047 for Undergraduates, and $2,826 for graduates.
You need to have at least a GPA of 3.0 to be considered.
2. Dag Hammarskjöld Journalism Fellowships
This is among the scholarships for Caribbean students who have a strong interest in international affairs and the work of the United Nations (U.N.) and its member agencies. Scholars will have free hands-on experience and knowledge of how the U.N. operates through first-hand observation of working sessions, press conferences, and interviews.
Applicants must be between 25 to 35 years old, and from nations of Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Oceania.
3. Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program
Firstly, Mastercard Foundation provides a total sum of $19.5 million to award to 120 academically talented, yet financially disadvantaged students from Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. They also provide an extra $39.0 million to 125 Mastercard Foundation Scholars.
4. The Vanstone Scholarship
This scholarship is not only for Caribbean students but also for students from African, South Asian, East Asian, or South East Asian heritage who intend to study either music or drama in the U.K. The scholarship is worth £5,000 per year and will cover part of the scholar tuition fee.
5. International Slavery Scholarships
This is one of the scholarships for Caribbean students provided by the University of Liverpool, and you don’t need to submit a separate application to be considered. All you have to do is showcase your interest when applying for the MA in International Slavery Studies as part of your personal statement.
The scholarship will be awarded to two outstanding students and will cover their entire tuition fees, plus a £10,000 bursary.
6. RRHolmes Scholarship Organization
This scholarship is awarded to high school, college, or adult learners who are either from the Caribbean or of Caribbean descent and are in need of financial assistance. The funds range from $250 to $1,500 and you can re-apply each year.
7. TRU – Scholarships for Residents of the Bahamas and Caribbean
This $7,500 worth of scholarship is awarded by Thompson Rivers University to eligible undergraduate candidates pursuing one of their specific eligible programs. Your academic performance won’t be the only thing that will be considered here, recommendations from your admission file assessment will also be considered.
8. GLA – African & Caribbean Excellence Partners Award
The University of Glasgow provides 10 Scholarships to outstanding African and Caribbean students who intend to acquire a 1-year master’s program at the University. The scholarship will cover recipients’ full-tuition, and applicants need to be nominated by one of their partners.
9. Brock University – The Caribbean International Scholarship
This is among the scholarships awarded to two (2) Caribbean undergraduate students who show great academic potential and demonstrate financial need. These scholarships for Caribbean students are worth $4,000 per recipient.
10. The Cowrie Scholarship Foundation
One of the purposes of establishing this foundation is to fund 100 disadvantaged Black British and Caribbean heritage students to attend UK universities. The scholarship will go as far as covering recipients’ entire tuition and also provide an additional maintenance stipend of up to £8,000 for each year.
11. Caribbean Medical University Scholarships
There are different kinds of scholarships provided by CMU, however, each recipient will receive just one type of scholarship. You can receive up to 50% of tuition refund, and applicants need to have academic excellence and demonstrate financial need.
12. WIU – Undergraduate Regional Diversity Scholarship
If you’re among the students from underrepresented South and Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Caribbean countries, you can be eligible for this $3,000 worth of scholarship provided by Western Illinois University.
13. LSE – Overseas Uggla Family Scholars Programme
London School of Economics and Political Science is awarding seven (7) scholarships to undergraduates of Black African/Caribbean, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi heritage who intend to study at LSE. Scholars will receive £29,357 worth of scholarship each annually, where £12,132 will be channeled to their tuition, £16,700 can be used to cover accommodation and other living costs, and £525 for travel costs.
14. The Rhodes Scholarships for the Commonwealth Caribbean
This Rhodes Scholarship is only awarded to one outstanding Caribbean full-time student who intends to pursue their Postgraduate at Oxford University. The scholarship is fully-funded plus £19,092 worth of stipend per year, and extremely competitive.
15. Naughton & Clift-Matthews Mathematics Scholarship
This list of scholarships for Caribbean students wouldn’t be complete without mentioning this scholarship due to it will award eligible candidates £15,000 per year to pursue their PhD in the Mathematics Department at UCL. Applicants need to either identify as British Black-African or British Black-Caribbean.
