1. Spin Master Entertainment Scholarship
The spin master entertainment scholarship provides those in the animation industry in Canada with funds to support their studies. The entertainment scholarship open to only Canadian students is valued at $12,500, while the toy design is open to both U.S and Canadian students.
Eligibility: Must show proof of financial need, demonstrate a passion for animation, identify as one of the equity-seeking communities, etc.
2. Filled Diversity in Animation Scholarship
This scholarship was established to assist two students who identify as diverse and are in their second year studying animation program at Algonquin College, Sheridan College, Seneca College, Nova Scotia Community College, Centennial College, and Durham College. The scholarship is valued at $3,000 CAD and is renewable.
Eligibility: currently enrolled to study animation program in any of the six eligible institutions as a full-time student, be in good academic standing, identify as diverse, etc.
3. Sheridan College Animation Scholarships
Sheridan College animation scholarships help students who are enrolled in the bachelor of animation program to fund their tuition fees and other educational expenses. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need, merit, or academic excellence, depending on the case.
Eligibility: must be enrolled to study animation at Sheridan College, must provide a portfolio, must be able to provide a letter of recommendation and official transcripts.
4. Algonquin College Animation Program Scholarships
This is another in my list of animation scholarships in Canada. The scholarships are open to students studying Animation program and have shown professionalism in the industry. The animation scholarships available at Algonquin are the Mercury Award of Excellence, the Silicon Graphics Award, and the Switch VFX & Animation Award.
Eligibility: currently enrolled in Algonquin College to study animation, must be a high-performing student, etc.
5. Vancouver Film School’s Future Scholarship
Vancouver Film School offers scholarship opportunities to students who are pursuing a career in film, animation, game, tech, and others. The scholarship is valued at over $150,000, and about three students are given the chance to enroll in any of these three programs- VFS’s School of Animation, School of Film & Television, and School of Games & Creative Design.
Eligibility: you must be pursuing a career in animation, film, games, design, or television.
6. Max the Mutt College of Animation, Art & Design Scholarship
Max the Mutt College of Animation, Art & Design offers scholarship opportunities to students who are in financial need. These scholarships cater for tuition fees, as well as other educational expenses.
Eligibility: you must be a citizen of Canada or a permanent resident, and you must be in good academic standing.
