If you play cricket as a student and looking to study abroad on a cricket scholarship it is very much possible. Although there are just about a handful of them there are cricket scholarships for international students to apply and get free funding for their studies.
There are scholarships of all kinds for students and if you just happen to do the right research and talk to your high school teachers, college professors, or coach you are bound to find one that is right for you. Scholarships are established on a wide range of categories and the reason for this is so that it will go to a particular student who deserves it or needs it most.
For instance, there are shooting scholarships for students involved in hunting, trapshooting, rifle shooting, and other marksmanship sports. And scholarships under this category are only for students who fit the criteria. There are also scholarships for women over 30 which means that if you fall below 30 your application won’t be considered if you were to apply.
However, there are some scholarships that are for the general masses, and then winners are selected based on the criteria and requirements established by the scholarship body. Such scholarships are entrance awards, no-essay scholarships for international students, and leadership scholarships offered by universities.
Under scholarship categories, there are athletic scholarships that are reserved for student-athletes and if you aren’t one but apply you will get a rejection. So, rather than wasting time and resources applying for a scholarship whose criteria you do not meet, take your time and look for one whose criteria you fit into and apply for as many of them as you can.
Now back to scholarships for athletes, if you played basketball, cricket, soccer, etc. in high school you can actually get a scholarship in the sports you play to finance your college education. But you can only earn a sports scholarship if you want to continue playing the same sports in college and also be in good academic standing.
I recently updated an article on basketball scholarships in Canada to help those who want to play basketball at the collegiate level get a scholarship to finance their education.
In this blog post, you will find information on cricket scholarships for international students. There are two takeaways from the above topic. First, the scholarships curated here are only for cricket players. Secondly, it is only for international students.
To be sincere, the research for this article was such a daunting task because there are very few cricket scholarships to begin with and it gets even more challenging searching for the ones for international students. But at the end of the day, I was able to gather a handful of cricket scholarships for international students which really made my day, and highly satisfying for me that I get to help out.
So, without any further ado, if you are a cricket player and want to study abroad on a cricket scholarship go ahead and digest the information below.
