The fully funded scholarships in China that are available for students to apply for are as follows;

1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)
Chinese Government Scholarship is a large scholarship fund provided by the Chinese Government which is a project set up by the Chinese Ministry of Education to attract students from different parts of the world to advance education, cultural interchange, political cooperation, and intercultural understanding between China and other nations.
As part of the project, an organization was set up to be responsible for the admission, enrollment, and administration of Chinese Government scholarships to 279 Chinese universities. This organization is the China Scholarship Council, an organization on a mission to provide financial assistance and support services for international students in China. The organization manages over 50,000 scholarships for international students to study in China.
So, if you want to receive the CSC Scholarship award, you must be an international student enrolled in one of the 279 CSC-affiliated universities. Application for this scholarship is online, open every year from December to April and results are announced at the end of July. Successful students will join their host institution at the beginning of September. The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, a stipend of CNY 2,500 per month, and comprehensive medical insurance of CNY 800 per person per year.
To be eligible, you must be from any country aside from China, be in good mental and physical health, have an excellent high school diploma or its equivalent, be under 25 years old, pass the HSK Level 3 for a Chinese-taught program, and meet the admission requirements of the university of preference in terms of language proficiency and academic ability, among others, when applying for a program taught in a language other than Chinese.
2. Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholars Program
The Schwarzman Scholars Program is a one-year, fully-funded master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, designed to build a global community of future leaders who will serve to deepen understanding between China and the rest of the world. Schwarzman Scholars is the first scholarship created to respond to the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century. In any sector, the success of future leaders around the world depends upon an understanding of China’s role in global trends. Scholars chosen for this highly selective program will live in Beijing for a year of study and cultural immersion attending lectures, traveling around the region, and developing a better understanding of China. Admissions opened in the fall of 2015 with outstanding success, immediately making Schwarzman Scholars one of the world’s most selective graduate and fellowship programs.
3. Peking University Yenching Academy Fellowship
The Yenching Academy provides full fellowships to its Scholars and offers them a wide array of interdisciplinary courses on China within broadly defined fields of the humanities and social sciences. Working closely with their academic mentors, Yenching Scholars create their own study paths by choosing courses from six research areas.
They participate in a variety of extracurricular activities and field studies, organized by the Yenching Academy, and designed by scholars themselves. Studying at the Academy is an exceptional opportunity to take part in intercultural exchanges and interdisciplinary learning, developing both personally and professionally. The Yenching Academy provides a generous fellowship to all scholars, including tuition fees, accommodation, a monthly stipend, one round-trip travel fare, and field study costs.
4. Confucius Institute Scholarship
To cultivate qualified Chinese language teachers and facilitate the promotion of Chinese language and culture, the Confucius Institute Headquarters launched the CIS to support outstanding students, scholars, and currently employed Chinese language teachers recommended by Confucius Institutes, independently operated Confucius Classrooms as well as some HSK test centers.
The Confucius Institute Scholarship is entrusted to 150 Chinese universities. So, if you want to be a recipient of CIS, you must be accepted to study the Chinese language at one of those universities. This scholarship provides full and partial scholarships. The full scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation fees, a living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance expenses. The partial scholarship covers everything in the full scholarship, except for the living allowance.
To be eligible, you must be a citizen of any country aside from China, be in good physical and mental condition, have excellent academic and behavioral performances, aspire to become a Chinese language teacher, be under 25 years old, graduated with a high school diploma, and have a minimum score of 210 in HSK test level 4 as well as 60 in HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
5. Beijing Government Scholarship
The Beijing Government Scholarship offers financial support to international students who are studying or going to study in Beijing. The scholarship is divided into two; First Class and Second Class. Students who receive First Class will pay only ￥5000/year as tuition and those who receive Second Class will pay half the tuition which is about ￥13,000/year.
This scholarship is for students who are not citizens of China, are in good health, and have no criminal record. The applicant must meet the admission requirements of their host institution which must be a university in Beijing, be under the age of 30, and meet the language requirement for the English or Chinese-taught program of your host institution.
Application materials are scanned copies of your passport information page, notarized copies of your senior high school diploma, non-criminal record certificate, health examination certificate, study plan or no less than 400 words, CV, two recommendation letters, and foreigner physical examination form. Applicants under 18 years of age are required to provide legal documents of their legal guardians in China.
