1. The Colorado Association for Bilingual Education Scholarships
Various scholarships are offered by the Colorado Association for Bilingual Education Scholarships to students in high school and undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The association offers three types of scholarships namely; CO-CABE Scholar Award, Undergraduate Student Scholarship, and Graduate Student Scholarship.
Each of the scholarships has its specific requirements but a general rule is that applicants for any of the scholarships must be pursuing a degree focused on Bilingual Education. The scholarship award ranges from $1,500 to $10,000.
2. Bilingual Scholarships in Texas for Mental Health Workforce Diversity
This is a scholarship program of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. The scholarship, Bilingual Scholarships in Texas for Mental Health Workforce Diversity, was established by the foundation in 2008 to increase cultural and linguistic diversity in the Texas mental health workforce.
Every year, the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health provides full-tuition scholarships to Spanish-speaking graduate social work students in an accredited Texas university. The Bilingual Scholarships in Texas for Mental Health Workforce Diversity is one of the best scholarships for bilingual students.
3. Judy Kramer Scholarship for Bilingual Students
The Judy Kramer Scholarship for Bilingual Students is tenable only at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. The scholarship provides $1,000 to undergraduate or graduate students in a social work program with fluency in more than one language and who have demonstrated commitment to work in the US in a setting needing bilingual social workers.
4. Fatih Scholarship Program
Fatih Scholarship Program is provided by Fatih Bilingual School to a select number of prospective students who want to enroll in a middle or high school education at Fatih Bilingual School. The scholarships are divided into several categories namely; Science Olympiad, outstanding academic achievement, leadership, Tahfidz Quran, Art and Music, and Sport.
The scholarship duration ranges from 1 to 3 years and it is either fully funded or partially funded. The Fatih Scholarship Program covers admission fees, tuition fees, dormitory fees, and other school-related fees. To be eligible, you must be a citizen of Indonesia, have a high level of language proficiency, have an elementary or middle school diploma with an average score of 85%, have an outstanding report card average from the previous schools, and have an outstanding achievement or talents proven by nationally recognized certification.
5. The Texas Bilingual Scholars (TBS) Program
The TBS Program is set up to encourage students who enroll in an educator preparation program at a participating university to earn a certification to teach bilingual education, English as a second language, or Spanish in public school districts in Texas with high critical needs. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need to be considered for the award.
6. Early Childhood Education Bilingual Cohort Scholarship
The Early Childhood Education Bilingual Cohort Scholarship is funded by the Department of Early Learning and Care, Portland Community College. The scholarship is set aside for bilingual (Spanish/English) students to obtain their Early Childhood Education degree or Early Childhood Education Certificate.
To be eligible, students must identify as Latinx, be pursuing an associate degree or certificate in Early Childhood Education, and have an English level of proficiency for Spanish/English bilingual instruction. The scholarship will cover program-related tuition and fees for selected students.
7. Brignoni Ell/Bilingual Scholarship
Here is another scholarship for students who wish to pursue a degree in bilingual education. The scholarship is offered by the University of Nebraska to undergraduates with junior or senior standing and graduate students pursuing an endorsement in ELL or bilingual education. Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher to be eligible.
8. Joan M. Bornheimer Memorial Scholarship
The Joan M. Bornheimer Memorial Scholarship is one of the scholarships for bilingual students made available to a graduating senior who has participated in the district’s Bilingual/ESL Program for at least one year. To be eligible, you must have been a student at New Brunswick High School, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, active in school activities, and be accepted to a post-secondary institution.
9. Jose P. Graduate Scholarship Program
The Jose P. Graduate Scholarship Program is provided by Teach NYC and is offered annually to increase the number of bilingual teachers in NYC. The scholarship program offers full and partial funding to selected individuals who want to earn a teaching certification in NYC through a master’s degree.
Candidates must have earned a bachelor’s degree, and have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher in the critical needs area of Speech-Language Pathology, Blind and Visually Impaired, Bilingual School Psychology, or Bilingual Special Education. In addition, you must be a US citizen or permanent resident, provide a written statement from the college or university if your application for admission is still pending at the institution you applied else provide proof of enrollment, and be proficient in English and a language other than English.
