About Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Ngee Ann Polytechnic was established in 1963 not as a polytechnic but rather as a college which remained so for 5 years then it became a technical school from 1968 to 1982, and finally the polytechnic that it is now.

The school is public and government-owned. Located at 535 Clementi Road and has about 15,000 students enrolled in full-time courses, part-time courses, and Poly Foundation Programme (PFP) across its nine (9) academic schools namely;

The enrollment begins when Ngee Ann Polytechnic have offered you admission. You will log in to the enrollment portal to accept or defer the course offer then complete your course registration, make an online payment, upload relevant documents, submit the GIRO Direct Credit Application, check your enrolment status, and print the status letter.

Ngee Ann Polytechnic has its scholarship, it is a premier scholarship that opens doors to a wealth of talent development opportunities that will broaden your perspectives and shape your character.

We will begin by diving headfirst into the Ngee Ann scholarship then proceed to check out the others. The other scholarships are offered by various industries and donors that are in partnership with Ngee Ann Polytechnic. So, you can also use those other scholarships to study at Ngee Ann Poly. Let’s begin!

1. Ngee Ann Polytechnic Scholarship (NPS)

High-performing students with excellent academic performance, outstanding leadership potential, high achievers in their co-curricular activities, and strong core values are recognized with the Ngee Ann Poly scholarship. The scholarship awards $3,000 for tuition fees, $400 for book allowances, $1,200 for laptop allowance but only for those in year one, and enrollment into the Ngee Ann Poly talent development programme.

You must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident of Singapore enrolled in a full-time diploma course at Ngee Ann Poly to be eligible for the scholarship. In addition, you must also possess excellent academic results, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and actively participate in CCAs.

The scholarship is bond-free and you can receive another bursary but you cannot receive another scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship who terminate or are terminated from their studies prematurely may be required to refund the scholarships they have received so far.

The scholarship can be renewed but you will have to meet the following terms for renewal:

Performance within the top 10 percent by cumulative GPA
Attain a minimum CCA requirement to be advised at the point of awarding
Mandatory participation in The Christieara Programme (TCP) Camp
Display exemplary character, and personal qualities and uphold NP’s core values of respect, responsibility, resilience, integrity, compassion, and gratitude

2. Ngee Ann Polytechnic-Grundfos Scholarship

Grundfos is a company that deals in water and pump solutions and is renowned for its sustainable and innovative technologies. The company partners with Ngee Ann Poly to award a fully-funded scholarship to students covering their tuition fees, and offering the scholars industry-relevant developmental opportunities including mentorship by C-suite executives, job shadowing, and internship.

To be eligible, you must be a citizen of Singapore pursuing a diploma in the School of Engineering, possess excellent academic results, participate actively in CCAs, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities. The scholarship is bond-free and while you can receive a bursary, you cannot receive another scholarship with the Ngee Ann Polytechnic-Grundfos Scholarship.

Recipients of the scholarship who terminate or are terminated from their studies prematurely may be required to refund the scholarships they have received so far.

The Ngee Ann Polytechnic-Grundfos Scholarship offers the following:

$3,000 for tuition fees
$400 for book allowances
Enrolment in NP’s talent development programme, The Christieara Programme (TCP)
Internship with Grundfos
Mentoring session with Grundfos

The scholarship can be renewed but only under the following conditions:

3. Mapletree-Ngee Ann Polytechnic Scholarship

Mapletree is a renowned company in real estate development, investment, and capital management that has played a key role in shaping Singapore’s urban landscape. The company partners with Ngee Ann Poly to offer scholarships that will cover tuition fees and industry-relevant developmental opportunities including mentorship by C-suite executives, job shadowing, and internship.

The scholarship is bond-free and you can receive a bursary concurrently but you cannot receive another scholarship after receiving the Mapletree-Ngee Ann Poly Scholarship. If you terminate your studies or you were terminated prematurely you may be required to pay back the fund that has been disbursed to you so far. These are the terms of the Mapletree-Ngee Ann Poly Scholarship.

The eligibility requirements are:

You must be a citizen of Singapore
Be pursuing a diploma in the School of Design & Environment
Possess outstanding academic results
Active participation in CCAs
Demonstrate strong leadership qualities

The scholarship offers $3,000 for tuition fees, $400 for book allowances, enrolment into the polytechnic’s talent development programme, and internship and mentoring with Mapletree. The scholarship may be renewed if you meet the criteria below:

Attain a minimum CCA requirement to be advised at the point of awarding
Mandatory participation in The Christieara Programme (TCP) Camp

4. RSM Singapore-Ngee Ann Polytechnic Scholarship

This is another scholarship from a company partnering with Ngee Ann Poly – RSM Chio Lim LLP. A leading professional services firm that offers a wide range of audit, tax, and consulting services to businesses of all sizes. The scholarship is only for citizens of Singapore enrolled in a diploma in the School of Business & Accountancy.

In addition, the student must possess outstanding academic results, demonstrate leadership qualities, and actively participate in CCAs. The scholarship awards $3,000 in tuition fees, $400 for book allowances, enrolment into the talent development programme, and internship and mentoring session with RSM Chio Lim.

The scholarship can be renewed if you meet the following terms for renewal:

Performance within the top 10 percent by cumulative GPA
Attain a minimum CCA requirement to be advised at the point of awarding
Mandatory participation in The Christieara Programme (TCP) Camp
Display exemplary character, and personal qualities and uphold NP’s core values of respect, responsibility, resilience, integrity, compassion, and gratitude

5. Crowe Scholarship

This is one of the donor-supported scholarships and it is from Crowe, a company that specializes in public accounting and consulting providing services in audit, advisory, tax, outsourcing, and fund administration. Crowe Scholarship is for citizens of Singapore pursuing a Diploma in Accountancy at NP who possess excellent results, participate actively in CCAs, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

The scholarship awards $3,000 for tuition fees, $400 for book allowances, internship and mentoring sessions with Crowe, and enrollment into NP’s talent development programme. The scholarship is bond-free, concurrent hold of a bursary is allowed, concurrent hold of another scholarship is not allowed, and you may be required to refund the disbursed scholarship if you did not complete your studies at NP.

To renew the scholarship, satisfy the following terms:

Performance within the top 10 percent by cumulative GPA
Attain a minimum CCA requirement to be advised at the point of awarding
Mandatory participation in The Christieara Programme (TCP) Camp

6. Equinix Scholarship

Equinix is another company partnering with NP to donate funds to students with excellent academic results, have strong leadership potential, and who are high achievers in their CCA. Equinix is a global data center and interconnection company, and facilitates seamless connectivity for businesses worldwide.

The Equinix Scholarship is only for Singapore citizens pursuing a diploma in Electrical Engineering at NP. The scholarship offers $3,000 for tuition fees, $400 for book allowances, and enrollment into the talent development programme.

The terms of the scholarship are:

Bond-free
Concurrent hold of a bursary is allowed
Concurrent hold of another scholarship is NOT allowed, both in naming and in monetary terms
Refund of disbursed scholarships may be required for recipients who terminate or are terminated from their studies prematurely

7. Micron Scholarship

The provider of this scholarship, Micron Technology, is a global leader in the semiconductor industry. The Micron Scholarship is aimed at attracting new talents to the industry and motivating them to achieve academic excellence. The scholarship awards $3,000 for tuition fees or $4,000 for recipients of the Special Achievement Award and enrollment into the talent development programme.

Micron Scholarship is only for Singapore citizens pursuing a diploma in the School of Engineering who have excellent academic results, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and are actively involved in CCAs.

8. Sands Hospitality Scholarship

The Sands Hospitality Scholarship is offered by Marina Bay Sands, a leading business, leisure, and entertainment destination in Asia. The scholarship is aimed at nurturing new hospitality talent for Singapore and creating a healthy pipeline for the future workforce.

To be eligible, you must be a Singapore citizen enrolled in NP pursuing a full-time Diploma in Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management or Diploma in Tourism & Resort Management who possesses outstanding academic results, is actively involved in CCAs, and demonstrates strong leadership qualities. The scholarship awards $5,000 for tuition fees book allowances and enrollment into the talent development programme.

The terms for the scholarship are:

Bond-free
Concurrent hold of a bursary is allowed
Concurrent hold of another scholarship is NOT allowed, both in naming and in monetary terms
Refund of disbursed scholarships may be required for recipients who terminate or are terminated from their studies prematurely

9. SPH Media Limited Chinese Media Group Scholarship

SPH Media is a leading media group with operations in the publishing of newspapers, magazines, and books both in print and digital editions. The company is offering this scholarship to nurture and support students pursuing a Diploma in Chinese Media & Communication.

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

Only for Singapore citizens
Pursuing a Diploma in Chinese Media & Communication

Selected winners will receive $2,500 for tuition fees and enrolment into the talent development programme.

These are the scholarships offered at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. These scholarships are nearly alike but they are all different, so read through them carefully. Not all of them can be renewed.

Applying for All the Ngee Ann Poly Scholarships

The way scholarship application works at Singapore Polytechnics are different, you do not just get an application link and start applying, you will have to be invited to apply. And you will only receive this invite to apply when you are eligible.

To apply for the Ngee Ann Poly scholarships curated in this guide is also by invitation and here is how it works:

All students enrolled in year one will be invited to apply in May but students in years two and three who have excellent academic results in the previous academic year will be invited to apply in April.

Students will be informed of the application opening through their NP Connect emails, with applications to be submitted online via the NPal student portal. Students selected for a scholarship will be allocated to one deemed most suitable for them; separate applications are not required.
